<p>James Franco admits he&#8217;s become very picky about the films he makes.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve come to a point where I want to do movies that I believe in,&#8221; the actor explained.</p>
<p>&#8220;I have come to an understanding of filmmaking, a new understanding where I believe it&#8217;s a directors medium, that means working with people that I believe in,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>James&#8217; latest project has been working with Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle on 127 Hours. The film is based on the real-life story of what happened to Aron Ralston who, after being trapped under a boulder in an isolated canyon, cut off his arm to save his life.</p>
<p>&#8220;Danny is a person who, if you look at his past films, he&#8217;s constantly changing and constantly challenging himself as a way of finding new approaches to filmmaking,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>James went on: &#8220;When I read the script obviously its hard not to see that it&#8217;s a very unusually structured movie that would require unusual filmmaking techniques, so I thought who better to make this movie with than Danny?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;He did make a movie that&#8217;s very different than anything he&#8217;s made before and it was great to be a part of it,&#8221; James added.</p>
<p>:: 127 hours is released in cinemas on Friday, January 7.</p>
