<p>Another rescue flight has set off for Tripoli to bring back British people still trapped in the Libyan capital as violence continued to rage in the North African state.</p>
<p>The latest &#8211; and probably last &#8211; flight left Gatwick and is expected back late on Saturday.</p>
<p>Any Britons still in Tripoli had been urged to head for the airport at first light as the bloody repression of anti-regime protests intensified.</p>
<p>Foreign Secretary William Hague said it was &#8220;very important&#8221; for anyone still caught up in the violent chaos to get on board if possible &#8211; as some of those landing back in the UK last night described the violence as a &#8220;living hell&#8221;.</p>
<p>Mr Hague also insisted that &#8220;a lot of work&#8221; was under way on plans to extract up to 170 UK oil workers stranded in remote and highly vulnerable desert locations.</p>
<p>&#8220;There are now very few British nationals remaining in Tripoli. It&#8217;s very important that those that remain go to the airport, that they do so at first light,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>Gatwick Airport control centre duty manager Mike Francis said: &#8220;The rescue flight, a Boeing 737, has left for Tripoli and we are on standby for it to come back some time tonight.</p>
<p>&#8220;All the facilities which we had to receive people off a similar flight yesterday evening are still in place so we await information on when the plane will return.&#8221;</p>
<p>A Foreign Office spokeswoman said it was likely to be the last rescue flight, but that was not confirmed.</p>
<p>Meanwhile SAS troops are understood to be ready to move in to evacuate those stuck in the oilfields, though the Ministry of Defence refuses to comment on the movements of Special Forces.</p>
