<p>Terrence Howard may have been acting for a decade before 50 Cent, but he has revealed what he learnt from the chart-topping star.</p>
<p>The duo worked together on the rapper&#8217;s first film, Get Rich Or Die Tryin&#8217;, and rather than giving his younger counterpart &#8211; whose real name is Curtis Jackson &#8211; some acting tips, Terrence actually picked some up.</p>
<p>&#8220;One of the things that I learned, the hardest thing to do is be still &#8211; I actually learned more from watching him, because he taught me to be still,&#8221; he told MTV.com.</p>
<p>&#8220;When you don&#8217;t know what to do, be still. He mastered that. And therefore, when he jumped forward and had something to say, he spoke the truth with it. That&#8217;s a genius. That&#8217;s what makes great film work. He was there from the beginning.&#8221;</p>
<p>Since making his big-screen debut in 2005, the rapper has appeared alongside Hollywood royalty Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in Righteous Kill, Samuel L Jackson in Home Of The Brave and Mickey Rourke and Ray Winstone in 13.</p>
<p>Terrence, meanwhile, got his break in Mr Holland&#8217;s Opus in 1995 and got an Oscar nomination for his performance in Hustle &#038; Flow. He has also scooped gongs for his roles in Crash and Iron Man.</p>
