<p>Justin Bieber has more Twitter followers than Britney Spears and US President Barack Obama.</p>
<p>The 16-year-old pop star has become the second most followed person in the world on the social networking site, with 6.9 million followers, beaten only by music icon Lady Gaga with 7.9 million followers.</p>
<p>Britney Spears is the third most popular Twitter user, with 6.7 million people following her to find out updates such as the announcement of her new album title, Femme Fatale, while only 6.4 million people follow the tweets of the President of the United States, Barack Obama.</p>
<p>Ashton Kutcher became the first Twitter user to gain one million followers in 2009, and now completes the global top five with 6.2 million followers.</p>
<p>In Britain Coldplay have the most followers, with 3.4 million, and then frequent tweeter Lily Allen is the second most popular with 2.6 million followers.</p>
<p>Wise and witty Stephen Fry has the number three spot with 2.1 million followers and comic Russell Brand is fourth with 1.8 million followers.</p>
