<p>A local food store owner who has set up shop 100 yards from a Tesco supermarket is fighting plastic with plastic.</p>
<p>Polly Plouviez, who runs Urban Larder in Mill Road, Cambridge, is selling shopping bags made from knitted supermarket plastic carriers.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s hard to compete with superstores,&#8221; said Miss Plouviez, whose multi-coloured bags generate funds for a local homeless people&#8217;s charity.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve decided that if you can&#8217;t beat them, knit with them.&#8221;</p>
