<p>Lady Gaga&#8217;s outrageous dress sense has proved to be divisive &#8211; after she was shortlisted for both most and least stylish star in this year&#8217;s NME Awards.</p>
<p>The singer, who took dressing like a dog&#8217;s dinner to new heights with her infamous meat frock last year, is joined on both lists by former Oasis star Liam Gallagher, who has his own clothing range.</p>
<p>Leading the shortlists on the music side are Foals who have five nominations, including best British band and best album for Mercury-nominated Total Life Forever.</p>
<p>The quintet take on Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro, Kasabian and Muse for the British band prize.</p>
<p>And they face releases by Arcade Fire, Crystal Castles, My Chemical Romance and Two Door Cinema Club in the best album section.</p>
<p>Arcade Fire, Biffy Clyro, Foals, Kasabian and Muse are in the running for best live band.</p>
<p>Arcade Fire and My Chemical Romance have four nominations each at the Shockwaves NME Awards which take place on February 23 at the O2 Brixton Academy.</p>
<p>Despite still not having played live or released their debut album, Liam&#8217;s new act Beady Eye are up for best new band. They compete with Everything Everything, Hurts, The Drums and Two Door Cinema Club.</p>
<p>Foo Fighters and former Nirvana star Dave Grohl has already been announced as the recipient of this year&#8217;s &#8220;godlike genius award&#8221;.</p>
