<p>Maria Bello will take on Dame Helen Mirren&#8217;s role in the US version of Prime Suspect, it has been reported.</p>
<p>The actress, who&#8217;s starred in A History Of Violence and Coyote Ugly, is said to be playing DCI Jane Tennison in the US remake of the Lynda La Plante series, and said she&#8217;s &#8220;nervous&#8221; about stepping into Dame Helen&#8217;s shoes.</p>
<p>Maria is quoted in the Daily Mirror as saying: &#8220;I&#8217;m definitely nervous to even think about taking over from Helen Mirren. I mean c&#8217;mon! How could anyone compete with her?&#8221;</p>
<p>Dame Helen picked up three Baftas and two Emmys for the role.</p>
