		</div><p>Beesley is to play an ex-Royal Marine working under Claire Danes’ character in the new series of Homeland.</p>
<p>The Mad Dogs star appeared in the new trailer for the fifth season of the Showtime drama, and now The Wrap has revealed a little more about his role.</p>
<p>Max will play Mike Brown, an ex-Royal Marine turned private military contractor. He is described as smart, but not entirely comfortable taking orders from Carrie Mathison (Danes).</p>
<p>Homeland Season 5 will pick up two years after CIA officer Carrie’s ill-fated time as Islamabad station chief.</p>
<p>Carrie is living alone with her daughter in Berlin, working as head of security for a German philanthropist.</p>
<p>Homeland returns to Showtime in the US on October 4. It is not yet known when Channel 4 will air the series in the UK.</p>
