<p>A woman remains in a critical condition in hospital after a house fire which claimed the lives of her three children.</p>
<p>Three-year-old Maddie Hudson, Anthony Hudson, five, and William Beale, nine, perished in the blaze in Clarence Avenue, Bridlington.</p>
<p>Their mother, 27-year-old Samantha Hudson, was rescued from the house and remains in hospital in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.</p>
<p>A neighbour has described her desperate attempts to help save the children, who she said were taken out of the house &#8220;like rag dolls&#8221; by firefighters.</p>
<p>Fire crews and police were called to the cul-de-sac, which is just a short walk from the town&#8217;s beach, at 11.58pm on Thursday.</p>
<p>Nurse Lesley Salisbury, 59, said she helped perform first aid on the youngsters after being woken in the night and running outside in her dressing gown.</p>
<p>She said: &#8220;A firefighter brought out a little boy. I told him I was a nurse and I started to work on him. I think I just went into nurse mode. I was doing chest compressions and the firefighters were doing the oxygen. After that it was just a blur, a dreadful blur.</p>
<p>&#8220;I do remember the firefighters bringing them out; they were like little rag dolls.&#8221;</p>
<p>Mrs Salisbury, who works as a nurse at Hull Prison, added: &#8220;It is just an awful tragedy.&#8221;</p>
<p>Referring to the little girl who died, Mrs Salisbury said: &#8220;She was a little angel, a beautiful little girl,&#8221; and she described all three youngsters as &#8220;lovely children&#8221;.</p>
