<p>A retailer is to sell its most popular apples naturally embossed with the Great Ormond Street Hospital logo in a new fundraising drive.</p>
<p>All proceeds from the sale of Marks &#038; Spencer&#8217;s Jazz apples will go towards providing specialist treatments and research for children at the hospital.</p>
<p>M&#038;S&#8217;s New Zealand growers achieved the &#8220;tattoo&#8221; by applying a transfer logo to each apple, which is left on as the colour develops.</p>
<p>M&#038;S apple buyer Shazad Rehman said: &#8220;It&#8217;s great to be supporting a wonderful charity like Great Ormond Street Hospital Children&#8217;s Charity.</p>
<p>&#8220;They work tirelessly to make the lives of children with serious illnesses more manageable and we hope the proceeds of apple sales will help to support the work they do.&#8221;</p>
<p>Hospital spokeswoman Jacqui Goldhill said: &#8220;We&#8217;re very grateful for the support M&#038;S is giving the hospital through this initiative.</p>
<p>&#8220;We need to raise £50 million a year to help rebuild and refurbish the hospital, provide vital up-to-date equipment and fund research into better treatments for the children.&#8221;</p>
<p>The apples will go on sale from Saturday for 99p.</p>
