<p>Greece is enduring another day of protest strikes in the run-up to a crucial government vote on the country&#8217;s tough austerity measures.</p>
<p>The 24-hour walkout has left Athens without public transport, sparking huge traffic jams as commuters instead attempted to get to work by car or taxi.</p>
<p>National rail workers are also on strike, paralysing train routes, although flights and ferries are not affected.</p>
<p>The two largest unions are holding a demonstration in central Athens as part of a three-hour work stoppage to protest against cutbacks.</p>
<p>At around midnight on Wednesday, parliament will vote on the 2011 state budget. Despite criticism from the opposition and several of their own backbenchers, the governing Socialists are expected to win the ballot.</p>
