<p>Christopher Nolan has revealed that The Dark Knight Rises will be his last Batman film.</p>
<p>When asked by MTV News if the movie would be his final one about the caped crusader, the director replied: &#8220;Yes&#8221;.</p>
<p>Christopher, who had great success with the first two instalments, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, also commented on his joy at the completion of the series. He said: &#8220;We&#8217;re very much excited about really finishing a trilogy and giving a conclusion to our story. And that&#8217;s what we&#8217;re doing.&#8221;</p>
<p>Christopher also defended the new castings of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and Tom Hardy as Bane, saying: &#8220;Once you see the film in 2012 you will completely understand why they were the perfect choice for these characters.&#8221;</p>
<p>However, when asked about any themes or concepts for the new Batman flick he remained tight-lipped, stating: &#8220;Wow, that&#8217;s a tricky one. I actually don&#8217;t have an answer for you today&#8230; I&#8217;m gonna have to really think about that.&#8221;</p>
