<p>Opera star Dame Margaret Price has died, her family said.</p>
<p>The singer, considered to be one of the world&#8217;s leading sopranos, was 69.</p>
<p>Cousin Marteine Richards said Dame Margaret died at her home in the village of Moyle Grove, near Cardigan, West Wales, on Friday morning.</p>
<p>Dame Margaret made an acclaimed operatic debut with the Welsh National Opera as Cherubino in Mozart&#8217;s Marriage Of Figaro in 1962 before becoming famous overnight in the same role at the Royal Opera House the following year.</p>
<p>Her career saw her performing in venues such as New York, Vienna, Paris and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.</p>
<p>She was awarded the CBE in 1982, followed by the DBE in 1993.</p>
