<p>Outgoing Florida Governor Charlie Crist is looking to pardon long-dead rocker Jim Morrison, who was convicted of exposing himself at a raucous concert in Miami in 1969.</p>
<p>Morrison, from Florida, was lead singer with 1960s rock band The Doors. </p>
<p>He was appealing against his conviction for indecent exposure and profanity when he died in a bath in Paris in 1971 at the age of 27.</p>
<p>Mr Crist told the St Petersburg Times that the more he looked into what happened that night, the more he thought it was right to seek a pardon. </p>
<p>Morrison was fined and sentenced to six months in jail but never served that time.</p>
<p>Mr Crist, a Republican-turned-independent, lost his bid for a US Senate seat earlier this month.</p>
