<p>A Briton who spent two decades on death row in America had charges including an assault against his son dismissed, a court official said.</p>
<p>Kenny Richey, 46, was arrested near a house where his son Sean Richey lived in the town of Baxter, Minnesota, on January 6 last year.</p>
<p>He was accused of hitting his son with a baseball bat during an alleged assault in the US.</p>
<p>Papers from Crow Wing District Court in Minnesota showed Kenny Richey was charged with second degree assault, making threats and domestic assault.</p>
<p>According to the court papers, Sean Richey told police his father grew angry, threatened him and attacked him after the pair had been drinking beer and wrestling playfully.</p>
<p>In February last year Kenny Richey pleaded not guilty to all charges.</p>
<p>A spokeswoman for Crow Wing County Court in Brainerd, Minnesota, said: &#8220;All charges against him were dismissed. He was in court during the hearing.&#8221;</p>
<p>Richey returned to Scotland in January 2008 after 21 years in a US prison awaiting execution.</p>
<p>He was put on death row in January 1987 after being convicted of an arson attack in which a two-year-old girl died.</p>
<p>The former marine, who was born to a Scottish mother and American father, was freed after reaching a plea deal in 2007 with US prosecutors.</p>
