<p>Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal have broken up, it has been reported.</p>
<p>The couple, who were first seen together backstage at Saturday Night Live in October, had reportedly spent Thanksgiving weekend together &#8211; but rang in the New Year separately.</p>
<p>A source told People.com: &#8220;They&#8217;re over &#8211; it ended last month.&#8221;</p>
<p>The 21-year-old country singer, who has dated singer Joe Jonas and Twilight star Taylor Lautner, rang in 2011 at a party in Nashville while Jake, who is nine years older, attended a closing party for the Broadway show Fela! in New York on January 2.</p>
<p>No reason was given for the split, with their respective spokespeople not offering a comment.</p>
<p>Last month Gwyneth Paltrow spoke about the dinner party she threw where Jake and Taylor are rumoured to have met for the first time.</p>
<p>It has been claimed they met at the London home Gwyneth shares with husband Chris Martin and their children.</p>
