<p>A former psychiatric patient who was convicted in 2008 of stalking actress Uma Thurman tried to call her again, defying a court order to leave her alone after years of unwanted and advances, officials said.</p>
<p>Jack Jordan was waiting to be taken to New York after he was arrested November 23 in a Washington suburb on charges of violating his restraining order by calling the actress&#8217;s office, according to police and the Brooklyn district attorney&#8217;s office, which is prosecuting the case.</p>
<p>Jordan, a former lifeguard and pool cleaner with an English degree from the University of Chicago and a history of mental problems, was sentenced in 2008 to three years&#8217; probation and told not to try to contact the Oscar-nominated Pulp Fiction actress for five years.</p>
<p>Montgomery County, Maryland, police spokeswoman Lucille Baur said when officers went to serve the arrest warrant, they were led to a room where Jordan was sitting in front of a computer with Thurman&#8217;s name in a Google search box.</p>
<p>Ms Baur said Jordan was arrested without incident and is awaiting a December 21 extradition hearing.</p>
<p>Jordan was convicted of stalking and harassing the actress from 2005 to 2007.</p>
<p>Thurman told jurors at his trial that she was &#8220;completely freaked out&#8221; by his behaviour.</p>
<p>He sent bizarre letter and cards &#8211; featuring such ominous images as a picture of a bride with her head torn off and such unsettling messages as &#8220;my hands should be on your body at all times&#8221; &#8211; called her family and employees, tried to get into her trailer on a movie set and showed up at her Manhattan home late at night, according to testimony.</p>
<p>Jordan testified that he had developed a crush on Thurman in high school after seeing her in the 1988 movie The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, and his feelings intensified after he saw her in the Quentin Tarantino-directed Kill Bill in 2003.</p>
<p>He was involuntarily committed to a mental hospital in late 2005 after being questioned about his obsession with Thurman, he said.</p>
