<p>The captain, crew and owner of a Vietnamese tour boat have been detained for questioning two days after 11 foreign tourists, including a Briton, and their Vietnamese guide drowned when the vessel sank as they slept.</p>
<p>Stuart McCormick, 30, from Irvine, Ayrshire, died when the boat sank in Vietnam&#8217;s famed tourist spot Ha Long Bay on Thursday.</p>
<p>Quang Ninh police spokesman Le Thanh Binh said the director of Truong Hai Company, the boat captain and five crew members had been detained.</p>
<p>Vu Van Thin, chief administrator of Quang Ninh province, said the government would offer £610 to each of the foreign victims&#8217; families and £308 to the nine survivors. </p>
<p>It was unclear if additional compensation would be provided from an insurance company.</p>
<p>The bodies of the foreign victims &#8211; from nine countries &#8211; remain at hospitals in Ha Long Bay.</p>
