<p>Passengers have set a fire to a South African commuter train over a fare dispute, causing damage estimated at 1.7 million dollars (£1.1 million).</p>
<p>Metrorail spokeswoman Lillian Mofokeng said commuters started the fire after they were caught without valid tickets.</p>
<p>No one was hurt and Metrorail authorities evacuated all the passengers. </p>
<p>The train was running between Johannesburg and the capital of Pretoria.</p>
<p>The economic hub of Johannesburg has poor and unsafe transport infrastructure. </p>
<p>Ahead of the World Cup last year, the government launched a bus system but its routes are limited.</p>
