<p>More than 1,000 anti-government protesters have been marched through Yemen&#8217;s capital for a fourth consecutive day, demanding political reforms and the removal of the US-allied president.</p>
<p>University students, rights activists, and politicians were met in Sana&#8217;a by a counter-demonstration from dozens of supporters holding up pictures of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.</p>
<p>They confronted the protesters, shouting slogans against terrorism and supporting the government&#8217;s call for dialogue.</p>
<p>Police separated the two groups before the protesters marched toward the city centre shouting &#8220;Leave Saleh.&#8221;</p>
<p>Lawyers in black robes, led by their union head, joined the demonstrators shouting &#8220;People want the regime to step down&#8221; and chanting slogans directed against the security forces.</p>
