<p>Billy Bob Thornton has revealed he used to race cars &#8211; and still likes to drive his hot rod around at the weekends.</p>
<p>&#8220;I used to race cars in an amateur fashion years ago,&#8221; the actor said. </p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m a muscle car guy, I actually own one myself, I&#8217;m very into driving,&#8221; he revealed.</p>
<p>The Oscar-winner plays an off-the-rails cop in his new action film Faster. His character is trying to catch a newly-released prisoner (played by Dwayne Johnson) who&#8217;s out to avenge his brother&#8217;s murder.</p>
<p>&#8220;I always like playing the ambiguous character, its always more fun to play,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s kind of a multi-layered guy but he kind of went down the wrong road, I think that&#8217;s something most people can relate to, trying to get your life back on track.&#8221;</p>
<p> Billy Bob admitted he was slightly envious of the cool American sports car that The Rock got to race about in.</p>
<p> &#8220;The character I played was driving the old Government Issue cop car, so it wasn&#8217;t as fun!&#8221; he laughed.</p>
