Cheryl Cole is spending New Year’s Eve in South Africa with dancer Derek Hough, it has been reported.
The X Factor judge and the Dancing With The Stars professional have hired a swanky £3,000 a night apartment in Cape Town, the Sun reports.
Derek, who Cheryl has insisted is just a friend, checked the country was a malaria-free zone before organising the trip.
Cheryl missed the audition stages of this year’s X Factor after contracting malaria during a trip to Tanzania.
Friends apparently warned them about going back to Africa so soon afterwards.
“But Derek did his homework and found Cape Town is a malaria-free region,” a source said.
