<p>Coldplay want to make their next album their &#8220;masterpiece&#8221;, frontman Chris Martin has revealed.</p>
<p>The hit band &#8211; singer Chris, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion &#8211; are currently writing and recording their follow-up to 2008 album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends.</p>
<p>Chris told NME magazine: &#8220;We still don&#8217;t think we&#8217;ve delivered our masterpiece, so we&#8217;re still trying to do it. As long as we feel like that and we&#8217;re hungry&#8230; that&#8217;s all that matters.&#8221;</p>
<p>The chart-toppers, who have been working with producers Brian Eno and Marcus Dravs, have a huge amount of material for their next offering &#8211; their fifth studio album &#8211; which they are trying to slim down.</p>
<p>New songs include Princess Of China and Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall.</p>
<p>Chris told the new issue of the music mag: &#8220;The worst mistake we could make, when we&#8217;re the most Marmite-y of bands, would be to make a super-long thing.&#8221;</p>
