<p>Robert Pattinson has confessed how uncomfortable he felt about playing Reese Witherspoon&#8217;s son in Vanity Fair.</p>
<p>The 24-year-old Twilight heartthrob stars alongside the 34-year-old Oscar winner in new movie Water for Elephants, in which they play lovers, but he admits it&#8217;s weird remembering playing Reese&#8217;s son in the 2004 costume drama.</p>
<p>Robert told Entertainment Tonight: &#8220;It seems like it&#8217;s been so long ago now &#8211; I remember even on the set, I thought I looked too old to be her son.&#8221;</p>
<p>Reese, who was aged with make-up to play the scene, added: &#8220;He was walking down this corridor and I turned to the director and I said, &#8216;That&#8217;s my son? He&#8217;s so good looking!&#8217; I was like, &#8216;He&#8217;s so hot!'&#8221;</p>
<p>Now the couple are really enjoying working together on their new movie, about forbidden lovers, in the film based on a bestselling book of the same name.</p>
<p>Reese said: &#8220;I am so lucky. He&#8217;s so amazing and wonderful and sweet and just the nicest guy too, so you can just add that to the soup.</p>
<p>&#8220;I mean, he&#8217;s just so good-looking and he&#8217;s a really nice person.</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ll probably just laugh the whole time, because all we do is just laugh and joke around.&#8221;</p>
<p>Robert added: &#8220;She&#8217;s great. I think every time where there&#8217;s a love scene, though, I get beaten up.&#8221;</p>
