<p>A top Italian court has rejected as unconstitutional an immunity law shielding Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi from trial but maintained some room for immunity.</p>
<p>The Constitutional Court&#8217;s ruling stopped short of completely rejecting the law shielding Mr Berlusconi, which would have immediately reopened two trials, on corruption and tax fraud charges respectively.</p>
<p>But it also gives judges discretion in deciding whether the premier should be exempt from trial.</p>
