Austrian authorities have seized child pornography from 107 men, including five teachers, officials said.
The electronic material was discovered and seized during house searches that were part of a probe that began about a year ago when Luxembourg authorities determined that 163 Austrian IP addresses had accessed a child porn website they were monitoring, said Alexander Marakovits, a spokesman for the Federal Office of Criminal Investigations. Only 107 could be traced.
The men are aged 18 to 70 and “come from all sectors of society,” Mr Marakovits said, adding that one of the suspects hoarded 20,000 photos and 300 videos.
Another allegedly took pictures of his neighbour’s children while they were in the bathtub.
Lead investigator Harald Gremel said the names of the suspects were provided to prosecutors and that some have already been convicted.
