In Britain, 13 former military chiefs have said the UK is safer staying in the EU.
They have written a letter to the Telegraph describing the European Union as a ‘pillar of our security’.
Meanwhile the British justice secretary Michael Gove has spoken for the first time since announcing he will be urging people to vote to leave the union in June’s referendum.
He says becoming a minister made him see how many powers are limited by Brussels.
“One of the reasons why I became a politician is to change things.
“The European Union prevents people in this country having control over the politicians who can change things for the better.”
