Sixteen people have been killed and another 23 hurt in road accident, aChinese state news agency has reported.
The official Xinhua News Agency said the accident happened early on Wednesday in the central province of Henan.
It did not immediately give any other details.
Serious traffic accidents are common in China due to overloaded vehicles, poor safety practices and bad driving habits.
