Amazon is taking legal action against more than 1,000 people who it suspects are posting fake reviews on its website.
The online retailer’s filed court papers in the US, claiming its reputation is being tarnished.
People are apparently being paid for writing positive comments about a product.
Sky’s Rebecca Williams has said Amazon is taking action to protect customers.
“It claims that websites are being used, they are charging as little as £3.25 (€4.40) to make these fake reviews, in many cases, five star reviews,” Ms Williams said.
“And it says it needs to take action now in the past it has removed adverts but they say that doesn’t go to the heart of the problem.
