Helping to clean the windows at work takes on a whole different meaning when your office is the International Space Station.
Astronauts Gennady Padalka and Mikhail Korniyenko are due to step outside the ISS for some maintenance work on the orbiting lab in the coming weeks.
Padalk and Korniyenko will be attached to the ISS some 240 miles above the Earth and travelling at about 17,500 miles per hour as they get on with their chores although we assume window cleaning in space is not quite as mundane as it is for the rest of us.
Of course, we’re definitely in favour of the ISS getting a window washing, because we’re massive fans of pictures like this…

The Expedition 44 spacewalk is scheduled for August 10. It’s not all a window cleaning jolly though. The duo will also be replacing some of the external experiments and giving the Russian section of the ISS a photographic inspection.
