Former children’s TV presenter, author and peer Baroness Floella Benjamin was amongst the VIPs with important roles at King Charles’s coronation on Saturday. She had the magnificent job of carrying King Charle’s sceptre known as the Rod of Equity and Mercy.
The Sceptre with the dove represents spirituality and being carried by Baroness Benjamin is very symbolic and sends out a clear message that diversity and inclusion is being embraced.
Baroness Benjamin who also chairs the Windrush Commemoration Committee received a life peerage in 2010
