Boris Johnson took the wheel of a huge truck and everyone was suitably terrified

Must read

Boris Johnson helped get the Brexit campaign on the road with a stunt that left no-one feeling safe.

The mop-headed Mayor of London was attempting to ignite enthusiasm for the Leave campaign ahead of this summer’s EU referendum, at an event in Kent.

But more than one person started to feel a touch anxious when he vaulted into the giant vehicle with “Let’s take back control” emblazoned on the side.

The worry was well-placed, given the Uxbridge MP’s long-standing record for not pulling off stunts successfully.

Like when he got stuck on a zip wire in 2012.

This isn’t another publicity spectacle, though, because that would contradict what he had said in a speech earlier that day.
It was just powerful symbolism.

Despite this, it did not go unnoticed that the vehicle he had selected to champion the Brexit cause was built in France.

In fairness, the event did not end as badly as some people had anticipated.
