Support for the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition has fallen sharply in the seven months it took office, according to an opinion poll.
The ICM poll for The Guardian found just 43% believed the two parties were right to form a government together, as against 47% who disagree.
That compares to 59% who backed the formation of the coalition in May, with just 32% against.
Overall the poll puts Labour at a three-year high with 39%, two points ahead of the Tories on 37%, with the Lib Dems hitting a five year low on 13%.
ICM Research interviewed 1,003 adults aged 18 and over by telephone between December 16 and 19.
