Ethan Hawke is to run his first marathon to raise money for charity.
The Boyhood star said he and his wife Ryan will take part in the New York City Marathon on November 1 to support The Doe Fund, which works to break the cycle of homelessness, addiction and criminal recidivism.
It will be the first 26.2-mile race for the couple.
The Academy Award-nominated actor said: “Ryan and I are both feeling daunted and terrified,” but “are of course excited, too”.
