The son of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour has been charged in connection with the attack on a royal convoy of cars during a student fees riot, a court has heard.
Charlie Gilmour, a student at Cambridge University, is accused of violent disorder during the disturbance in Regent Street, central London, on December 9 when a car carrying the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall was attacked.
The 21-year-old, who appeared at City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court, was also originally charged with stealing a mannequin leg.
But the court heard that that charge has been withdrawn.
The case was adjourned to the same court on March 25.
