Global concern is mounting as the number of people infected with Zika virus is soaring.
Last night Columbia confirmed it has over 2,000 cases of pregnant women suffering from the illness – while it has over 20,000 cases in total.
Although the mosquito-borne virus’s symptoms are relatively mild – it’s linked to a devastating condition in which a baby is born with an abnormally small head and brain.
So far 23 countries in the Americas have confirmed cases of the virus.
