Kanye West releases new song Facts in which he disses Nike and Bill Cosby

Must read

Kanye West surprised the music world with the release of new song Facts on New Year’s Eve.

The rapper’s wife Kim Kardashian West broke the news on Twitter via a tweet:

The release, credited with production assistance from Southside and Metro Boomin, is littered with praise for himself and wife Kim, in addition to references of current events.

Facts, for example, gives Kim’s emoji a mention: “Kimoji just shut down the App Store!”

And Kanye also bigs up himself, many times: “Yeezy, Yeezy, Yeezy, I feel so accomplished,” he raps.

“Do anybody feel bad for Bill Cosby? Did he forget the names just like Steve Harvey?” Kanye says in the song.

Comedian Cosby was charged on Wednesday with sexually assaulting a woman in 2004.

Fellow US comic Harvey announced the wrong winner while hosting the Miss Universe pageant in December.

And Kanye blasts footwear giant Nike.

The musician and the sportswear firm were in business together until a parting of the ways in 2013 following disagreements pertaining to the rapper’s Air Yeezys and Red Octobers trainers.

He signed on with Nike’s long-time rival Adidas and declares in his new song: “Nike treat employees just like slaves.”

There is as yet no word on whether Facts will appear on Kanye’s forthcoming album Swish, but that didn’t stop the rapper from talking about it and his Adidas shoe line: “I ain’t dropped the album, but the shoes went platinum,” he said in the new song.

Last year the rapper released Only One, which features Sir Paul McCartney on keyboard, on January 1.
