A man has been charged with the murder of a 14-month-old boy, police said.
An east London hospital contacted the Metropolitan Police at about 2pm last Thursday about a dead child.
The boy had been brought in earlier that day and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
A post-mortem examination on Saturday at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital gave the cause of death as blunt trauma injury to the abdomen.
Nathan Allen, 26, from Romford, Essex, is in custody and will appear at Havering Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning.
