Mars in court for cocaine plea

Must read

Bruno Mars was arrested in a casino toilet after a nightclub performance in Las Vegas

Bruno Mars is due to plead guilty to cocaine possession in the US as part of a deal that could result in the felony conviction being wiped from his record next year.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter is due in court in Las Vegas on a plea agreement that would get him probation, a 2,000 dollar fine, plus requirements to perform 200 hours of community service and complete drug counselling.

If the 25-year-old, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, stays out of trouble for a year, the conviction would be erased from his record.

Bruno is not contesting police accounts that he possessed 2.6 grams of cocaine when he was arrested in September in a casino toilet after performing at a Las Vegas nightclub.

Mars was a child entertainer in Hawaii before moving to Los Angeles in 2002 to pursue his entertainment career.
