Ian McShane has admitted he finds his role of Blackbeard in the new Pirates Of The Caribbean movie “complicated” – as getting into costume takes so long.
The 68-year-old British actor is playing a villain in the fourth instalment of the swashbuckling adventures, Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Ian revealed: “I’m doing Blackbeard now, who’s a complicated character, with a complicated beard, which takes two and a half hours to make up, getting into complicated clothing.”
He went on: “It feels like we’ve been filming it for three years – we were in Hawaii for two months, LA for a month and now in London for two months.”
But the Lovejoy star is pleased to be playing the bad guy as he prefers complicated characters.
He said: “The devil gets the best tunes usually, so over the past few years it’s been terrific.”
