Zimbabwe’s president Robert Mugabe has said he will retaliate against Western economic curbs imposed on his party.
Measures would include seizing foreign-owned businesses and mining interests.
Mugabe told his ZANU-PF party members in the city of Mutare that it was time to fight travel and financial bans on party leaders.
Under empowerment laws, black Zimbabweans are due to acquire 51% of businesses.
In a live broadcast on state television, Mugabe warned British and US firms that “unless you remove sanctions we will take 100 %.”
Western countries imposed targeted restrictions on Mugabe and his party elite to protest at violations of democratic and human rights during a decade of political and economic turmoil.
