Rockstar Games is looking for video game testers in the UK

Must read

Playing video games is supposed to be a waste of time – something that actively hinders people from getting good grades and a good job.

At least that’s how it’s supposed to be. But with the announcement that Rockstar Games is looking for game testers it might be time to bin those assumptions, which is excellent news for the gamers out there.

The company behind the likes of Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne is looking for “passionate, enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals” to join their testing teams in Edinburgh and Lincoln. Successful candidates will be expected to test games and applications across various platforms, find and report bugs, and provide clear and concise critical analysis.

An excellent gaming ability is expected, as is a passion for them.

The opportunities come as Staffordshire University became the first UK university to offer a degree in e-sports – competitive gaming – and a study showed video games could help young people develop valuable skills, such as communication and resourcefulness.

It’s a pretty good time to be a gamer.
