New Orleans’ fire chief said a blaze at an abandoned warehouse has killed several people
Fire chief Charles Parent told WWL-TV that survivors said the fire started when people burned wood in a barrel to stay warm. He said they got out through a window.
Mr Parent said the bodies have been turned over to the coroner’s office. He said firefighters could not tell their age or gender. He also said that cadaver dogs will be brought in in case there were others in the building in New Orleans’ 9th Ward.
