Must read

Striking French ferry workers are blocking access to the loading terminal for the Eurotunnel that links France and Britain, delaying freight and passengers hoping to cross the Channel.

The workers have repeatedly protested against expected job cuts in the French port city of Calais linked to Eurotunnel’s sale of its ferry Euro Tunnel’s sale of its ferry service.

Eurotunnel said the union is protesting again today, hindering vehicles on their way to the train terminal.

Calais has become increasingly tense as the labour unrest continues.
