A man and woman have been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with the murder of a 15-year-old boy, police said.
The teenager was found dead in a bath on Christmas Day.
Eric Baikubi, 27, of Hathaway Crescent, Newham, east London, and Magalie Bamu, also 27, appeared before Thames magistrates in London.
Officers discovered the badly-injured teenager at a flat in Newham, east London, about lunchtime on Saturday.
A post-mortem examination at East Ham Mortuary failed to determine the exact cause of death and police are awaiting the results of further tests.
The pair were remanded in custody following a short hearing, a Met police spokesman said.
They will appear at the Old Bailey in London on Thursday December 30.
