<p>Sigourney Weaver will return to Ghostbusters 3 &#8211; but only if her on-screen son can join in.</p>
<p>The Alien actress would gladly reprise her role as haunted home-owner Dana Barrett in the forthcoming third instalment, provided there&#8217;s a part in the script for her character&#8217;s offspring, Oscar, who was kidnapped by the ghouls in the second movie.</p>
<p>&#8220;The one thing I said is that I&#8217;ll do it if Oscar, my little son, can be a Ghostbuster, and I think (director) Ivan Reitman liked that idea,&#8221; she told Entertainment Weekly.</p>
<p>She added: &#8220;I saw Bill Murray at the Scream Awards, and he said we&#8217;re gonna do it, but I&#8217;m not sure. I think no-one&#8217;s really read a script. But I&#8217;ve talked to Ivan Reitman. He definitely wants to do it. There was a script that was being rewritten as of about a year ago.&#8221;</p>
<p>The original team of Ghostbusters &#8211; Dan Aykroyd (Ray Stantz), Bill Murray (Peter Venkman) and Harold Ramis (Egon Spengler) &#8211; are reported to be returning, with a new generation of ghoul-fighters including Bill Hader and Anna Faris.</p>
<p>Dan is working on the script with screenwriters Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg.</p>
<p>&#8220;We have a strong first draft that Harold and I will take back, and I&#8217;m very excited about working on it,&#8221; he has said.</p>
