Whatsapp has said it is hoping to agree a deal with Brazilian officials to overturn a temporary ban on using it.
Mark Zuckerberg, boss at Facebook which owns the messaging app, has said he is stunned a judge has blocked it over privacy concerns.
A court also said WhatsApp had failed to co-operate in a criminal investigation, and has asked telecoms companies to remove access until Saturday.
