A driver has died after a crash on the M5 in Gloucestershire

A man has died in a crash involving a lorry, a single-decker coach and three cars on the M5.

The 30-year-old from Birmingham, who was driving one of the cars, was killed in the collision close to junction eight in Gloucestershire at around 7am on Sunday.

Three of the 18 people travelling on the coach were taken to hospital with minor injuries, while the remaining passengers were moved to another vehicle.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said the motorway remains closed in both directions while an investigation is carried out.

The force said the road is shut northbound between junction 11 and eight and southbound between junctions eight and nine.

Motorists are facing long delays and are advised to find an alternative route for their journey.
