At least 15 people were killed and 12 injured in a fire that tore through a budget hotel as guests slept in the northern Philippines, officials said.
Fire investigator Daniel Abana said firefighters and police found 15 bodies in the top two floors of the five-storey hotel after firefighters put out a fire that raged for four hours.
Police said at least 12 other guests were injured at the Bed and Breakfast Pension House in Cagayan’s capital city of Tuguegarao.
Many nursing students were staying at the hotel before taking a licensing exam on Sunday.
Tuguegarao is about 215 miles north of Manila.
