Artificial Intelligence system predicts Donald Trump will win US election

An artificial intelligence system which has successfully predicted the result of the last three US Presidential elections has placed Donald Trump ahead of his running colleague Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House.

MoglA is a system that had been developed by founder of Indian start-up, Sanjiv Rai.

The system takes in 20 million data points from public platforms including Google, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in the US and uses this information to predict the outcome of the election.

The system, which was created in 2004, is said to be gaining intelligence all the time and is much smarter than it was when it was first created.

At present, it appears that Donald Trump has overtaken the popularity of Barack Obama in 2008, when he was elected president by 25%.

However, there are some limitations to the system, the sentiment around social media posts is difficult for the system to analyse and there are currently more people on social media than there were in the previous presidential elections.

Regardless of this, according to the creator of the system, Sanjiv Rai, “If Trump loses, it will defy the data trend for the first time in the last 12 years since internet engagement began in full earnest.”
